I'm eyeballing me a pair of them there Leupold 12X50 Mojave's
priced right at 500.00. Just returned from a family vacation
at the Grand Canyon / Hoover Dam / Vegas and have hunted in NM and TX a few times. I always feel under-gunned with my 10X42 Wind Rivers when I go out west.
Got at least one trip planned to NM this year and want a little more oomph!!!
Whatch 'ya think?

I think you could find something better to spend $500 on. The difference between a 12x and 10x is going to be small. Stability in off-hand viewing becomes a real issue with even a 10x, let-alone a 12x. If you are purely looking for some more power and specialized glass I would recommend checking out the Minox 15x58 ED for around the same price. Doug at Cameraland still carries them I think.

I'm agreeing with MuddyBoots

I do like the looks of those Minox but I think 15X
is probably way too specialized.
I was thinking the 12X would be a good compromise
and the larger 50mm lens would help F.O.V.
Not many out there in 12X50 looks like.
I did find the 12X50 Leupy's much cheaper on binoculars
.com while looking at the Minox.

still undecided.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-07-10 AT 09:20PM (MST)[p]I'll agree with muddyboots and redrabbit. I feel that there just isn't hardly a difference between 10 power and 12 power. I would probably get the 15 power and mount them to a tripod.
redrabbit, I checked out your photo gallery and I'm am simply awed. Great work. fatrooster.
