2018-Deer Season

Well, I had big plans for deer season this year. Fighting fires in September kept me from hunting the High Hunt. Other work obligations limited my time to hunt the general season. I hunted a total of 5.5 days, and saw a total of four does!?!?! It was good to get out nonetheless. Opening morning found me climbing up very high in to enjoy some spectacular views, but very little deer sign. Another day, I was able to do a very long loop at high elevation, and in good sign all day long. Now that the season is over, I am seeing bucks all over!!!

Yeah, I was hoping to spend some time up in the northeast corner looking for whitetail, but I have a couple friends from NM coming for a visit, and my work schedule forces me to either host my friends or go hunting.
