We have been tearing the toms up this year we are at 9 toms and 1 jake, took my kids out today they got two toms my dad and I went out on Thursday got two and finished both our limits.8 of the birds have come out of the valley and my dad and I each got one up in the snow at 3,500’ we were both solo on those trips so we didn’t get good pictures.
My son got that cool looking black turkey today first time ever seen a turkey like that I’ve seen a couple of the silvers in years past.

Cool bird. I have never seen tail tips that dark. It's been a great year for turkeys--especially for those of us out of work and "sheltering in place" under the pines and oaks. My son and I completed limits by the second weekend and now either have to coax my wife out of bed at five-thirty, or hunt with a camera if we want to stay in the woods...

Congrats to you and your family! Nice birds! The public areas in the southern part of the state are just about “shot out” already. I’m going to have to venture north to find a better bird density with Toms willing to work

Congrats to you and your family Ken - nicely done! Great photos too thanks for sharing!

Finally got a bird to cooperate on SoCal public land this weekend! Bird one is in the books so fingers crossed, birds two and three come easier. May not be a Tom but he’s my first Rio and I worked for him so the experience makes him a trophy in my book. Plus, he’s a double-bearded Jake so that counts for something, right? lol

Took her back out today to try and get her bird number 3 after I got back from fishing,I got back at 1pm and we were off to the hunting spot. After 2 hrs of hearing distant gobbles this guy came sneaking in silent to the decoy. What a way for her to end with a big double beard.

All nice birds, congrats! I'm surprised that was Martini's first bird on the 23rd.
I don’t think he’s really ever hunted them,I gave him a few areas to check out on forest service land and he come across a jake but didn’t want to shoot it,he did say he was watching birds next to his club but they wouldn’t leave the other properties so he could get them.

Well just as fast as it arrived, 2020 Spring Turkey Season is gone but not without my wife getting her first bird on the last day of season and doing it with her bow nonetheless!
