Those mid season rifle tags will be interesting. Units like the San Juan can be very different during October compared to September. Should be interesting to see where people place their bets!

yep - will be very interesting to see how draw odds and harvest success move with the latest changes. Also very interested in seeing the proposed tag #'s for all of the hunts with the age objective adjustments as well.

When will the tag #s be released?

They are to be reviewed by the board on April 11 and proposed numbers will available before the application period begins in march.

When will the tag #s be released?

Should see proposed numbers in mid to late March, with a Wildlife Board working session on April 11th and RAC meetings being held April 12th-20th. The tag #'s won't be finalized and approved by the Wildlife Board until after the application deadline, but things shouldn't change too drastically I wouldn't think (although this current WB has a tendency to go rogue at times)

Keep an eye on the RAC meetings to see if anything crazy is being proposed. Good news is that you can amend your application during the application period as many times as you want with no extra charges.

I thought they were planning to turn West Desert, Deep Creek into a general season unit?

If I remember right, that is still the plan on that unit in the future, but they put a pause on making it a general unit this year (2023) to work through some concerns with the Goshute tribe.
