You might need to try another brand. To be effective with the sheet canopy, your angle is probably only around 90 degrees. You need to find a brand that gets you in the 170 degree range.

I know that the only general unit where tag numbers were increased was Pine Valley. Not sure where the final numbers are posted.

No units had increases, the WB shut down any tag increases that the division submitted. Tags was either kept the same, or decreased in the hard hit areas up north.

Cut 2000 tags last year from 4000 down to 2000. Recommended increase was 1100 this year, but cut it back to 800 for a total of 2800.

Correct - 2,800 tags was the initial recommendation by the Division for Pine Valley, but the Wildlife Board reduced it and approved 2,300

I put in with 21 elk and 19 mountain goat points. For elk, I have no idea where the masses are going to migrate with all the new changes. I'm guessing the movement won't improve my draw odds. For mountain goats, I'm on the cusp of drawing. I am also a 2nd year dedicated hunter. Since I took a buck my first year, I'll be picky this year. I almost always do general season OTC archery elk.

My ultimate goal is to focus on my 12 year old daughter and her adventures. I think she will pull a muzzleloader deer tag in Utah and we will get her a general season elk permit. I don't think she will draw a deer tag in Colorado with all the cuts in the NW units. I plan to buy her points in Wyoming for deer, elk, and antelope.

I'll get an archery elk tag over the counter. I doubt I'll draw the le elk tag I put in for. Pretty confident I'll draw GS archery deer since I put in for crappy units just so I get a tag and can hunt the extended.

Never seen so many spike/forks and does on any other unit in any other state. Maybe it was just the Twin Peaks area I was hunting.

That’s a common misconception that has been disproven. While genetics may be the issue, it’s much more commonly linked to nutrition.

Isnt that the truth..I hunted up there last year and didn't see squat..lots of elk. Me and my boy had PV last year. Checked the spots you and I messaged about, hunted hard and killed the only 4 point we saw during the hunt. Pretty awesome looking country, just very few animals in it!

As far as believing what you heard I even ask if there's any truth to the charge card being turn off when hit start and was told its alway on..?? Even as cards data base begins hits.
So believe what others say the real word is that email, credit card hit!!

I was thinking the same thing now that I remember Director Shirley reiterating her stance in his comments at the WB meeting. It does drag our the anticipation a little longer.

If they wanted they could do the draws right now and post results in a couple days. I think they are intentionally holding back. If it doesn't happen today then I think it won't happen until the end of next week.
