231 archery elk hunt

My son drew this resident tag this year. Does anyone know how many tags were given out this year for that hunt? Last year was 22. We have never hunted this unit during the archery hunt, so are the bulls in similar areas as the late hunt?

12 bull tags were allocated to Unit 231 this year.

12 bull tags were allocated to Unit 231 this year.

I'm guessing there will be a few LO elk tag holders too that opt for the archery hunt over the other weapon types. There will also be 10 ALW hunters looking for 5 pt or less bulls within 2 miles of designated Lake Valley Farms, Eight Mile Farms, and Flatnose Ranch Properties in Hunt Unit 231.
