2A Jan archery deer hunt!

Congrats to everyone who drew. I drew a 2A archery Jan deer tag on my 3rd choice.

Anyone know what should one expect for quality?

Also is access good and any hotels etc close?

Bucks typically rutting on this hunt?

Rutting action - some, they are more post rut than anything else.

Hotels - yes. Farmington, Bloomfield, and Aztec.

Quality - some good bucks, 160" is very doable, 180" do exist.

It's a hard hunt although in the same area as the infamous 2B/C this unit still has some deer but you will have to work to find them, especially the bucks. Just depends on the weather. The year I hunted we had good luck and it will still hard to find bucks... Always the potentially though up there!
