71/711 mule deer

Wondering if anyone was willing to share their experience hunting these units for deer , just trying to figure what to expect , unit is brand new to me being I got bumped by the creep in my usual unit , is the buck hunting decent ? Should I plan on hoteling it ? Wall tent? Drag the side by side out there ? Etc. I’ll be there 2nd season , I know there will be a lot of elk hunters , is there places to get away from them? Decent deer density and quality , goin in blind but thats ok because it’s better than sitting on the couch, just lookin for some general info, thanks in advance and best of luck this season

I've hunted 71 a few times. I've heard the quality and numbers are way down. There are always good deer taken from the unit. Shoot me a PM and I can direct you to some staring points that will get you going in the right direction.

Most of the elk hunters will be up high. Many times by the dates you will be hunting, the deer have moved down the mountain.

I just spent 3 weeks in 71/711 and the numbers definitely seem to be down
