I have been demoing these optics at the local sporting good stores. Now the quesition reamin what would be the optimum power for archery hunting . It seems like the opinions are split. Any comments?

If you are glassing open area 8x is good, as long as you have a spotting scope to get a closer look once you do find something.

For hunting timber or if you if this will be your only optic go with 10x

Definately the 10X42's for me. I've huntd with 8X30's for a lot of years and then the 8X42's and I really believe the 10X42's to be more effective and useful.
