It's definitely been addressed and actions are being taken.
The collaring study last year triggered the OTC "spot and stalk" tags and additional permits sold in specific units.

There's no question there are more females than males simply because the Tom's are the most sought after and bring more money to the guides.

It'll takes years to show any type of effects harvesting more lions will do.
It's pretty common for lions to target the habitual behaviors of mature bucks, therefore taking years to replace that older age class lost.
 
What about all the construction? If they cant find a place to winter, they can't live..
This may apply more to urban areas for the most part, but yet loss of habitat is a major factor for both urban and rural areas....rural habitat loss more of drought and natural occurrences issues i believe.
