So if the new law "bans the possession" of these trophies, does that mean all existing ones need to be turned in to the government?
If so will the owners be compensated or is the state confiscating personal property?

They will have to "Grandfather in" all the mounts that were obtained legally and here at the time of the ban law going into effect. If they do not, they will face numerous lawsuits for seizure of property under the 4th. amendment. A good example was the ban on high capacity magazines of more then 10 rounds where they had to grandfather in the mags already in possession.

It's one thing to adhere to sensible law and and regulation for the safety and security of society and the preservation of basic human and civil rights and quite another to adhere to idiotic legislation and law.

This is another example of stupidity by targeting a small and specific group of people out of unwarrented dislike; absolutely no different than racism.

That wasn’t the case with the Fed’s, domestic violence convictions, and being a restricted person. When that law went into effect, a lot of guys with crazy ex wife who plead guilty to a misdemeanor allegation of DV to get it over and done found out decades later the new law was retroactive. How that one passed muster is beyond me.

1911 maybe none of those DV convicted felt it was worth it, or could not afford to hire an attorney to fight a retroactive DV conviction that restricted their firearm rights. As for CA. hunters who have hunted Africa, many are very rich and will not be willing to give up their extensive game room filled with African trophies.

If you have enough money you can still get a Hatfield knife with a Black Rhino horn handle.

California can wish for whatever it wants. Import your trophy to Oregon or other state and drive it to your house in California.

Eel if I get a visit from our local game warden, I am going to be pissed at you for setting me up. That is not black rhino horn. It is black buffalo horn imported from India. HONEST TRUTH!!!!!!!
Besides the local game warden goes fishing with my son and I know him very well. If he came over, the wife would feed him dinner and I would tell him about the "over the limit" fish you have in your freezer and get even with you.

We have been trying for years to spit Northern CA. away from the rest of the state. San Francisco and below will go to Southern CA. and we will sell them our water at a high price as we have the dams and water storage.

Yea, but these Socialist dictators that run the this state do what ever they want and I wouldn't put anything past them. They rig our elections so they can keep a tight grip on our throats. It's disgusting if we did have a farm I would up and move.
