PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board will
meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, to interview four candidates for the governor’s appointment to fill a 2022 vacancy on the Arizona Game and Fish Commission.
The meeting will be held at the Game and Fish Department headquarters, Quail Room, 5000 W. Carefree Highway in Phoenix. Members of the public who wish to attend should enter through the front entrance of the headquarters building, wear face coverings, and maintain social distance of eight feet. Those persons wishing to speak to the board during the Call to the Public portion of the agenda should complete a speaker’s card and present it to the host. There is also a public comment dial-in number (602-962-9500). Unless prior approval has been granted by the board chairman, comments will be limited to no more than three minutes.
The following candidates will be interviewed: Justine McCune, James O'Haco, Robert Rimsza and Marsha Sue. They were chosen from a list of applicants considered by the board at its Oct. 19 public meeting. After the interviews on Nov. 9, the board will select anywhere from two to all four of these candidates to forward to Gov. Doug Ducey for consideration for the appointment.

Per Arizona Revised Statute 17-202, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board shall assist the governor by interviewing, evaluating and recommending candidates for appointment to the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. By law the board shall recommend at least two, but no more than five, candidates to the governor. The governor must select and appoint a commissioner from the list submitted by the board.
