I know it says that they'll do the draw for the alternate list in early July but does anybody have a date when it will be done? I didn't draw Montana or any other state for that matter and I am hoping to get a deer combo license. I just want to know if I'm going to be in the top 200 or in the 1000?s so I know how my fall is going to go..hahaha..Good luck to everybody that has a tag this year

I know it changes year to year but what's the average number that after that your chances of getting a tag are slim to none ?

About none....I believe those that applied by the March 15th deadline can be placed on the alternative list with priority, which makes sense and is fair I believe. There are usually left over "B" tags for doe whitetail and even cow elk. August 12 or so is when they will go on sale I am thinking.
