Antelope youth scope

Trying to get rigged up for an antelope hunt for my son and just curious what scope might be good for a youth on an antelope hunt? I think what I have rigged is just fine, but wanted to see what other opinions are out there. Currently I have a 4-12x in there with turret and we’re working on prone and shooting off a tripod at the moment. Just wondering if a 16x might be handier?

12x should be plenty. Last year, my daughter shot her pronghorn at 391 with a scope set on 12x. I shot my buck at 450ish with my scope set on 7x. Also shot a coyote at 921 on 7x. I would take a quality 12x over a junk 24x all day long.

I’ve got 3 young teenagers that hunt antelope and I agree 12 power is plenty good !

Get the best quality you can afford. They won’t be a youth for long. I wouldn’t worry too much about magnification over 10x.
