Area 10 Rifle Tag Youth Deer

I’ve hunted the Ruby’s 4-5 times on the archery. My 13 year old son drew a rifle tag starting October 1. We live about 8.5 hour from Elko.

I’m not jumping with excitement for this tag knowing what I know about the unit and how difficult these bucks would be to find come October 1.

Is there any private ground that would be accessible to swing the odds a little and make this hunt more youth friendly? What’s the rifle hunt like Monster Muley members?

Who knows area 10 and has an game plan for a youth hunter? Wilderness, low country, private, outfitter, drop camp. These bucks have been pushed by about 1k muzzle and archery guys for 2 months prior to the rifle ?….
He did draw it with zero points so that was pretty lucky. Looking for ideas

If he can hike and spike camp I would go up as high as you can get unless you find a way to get on the ranches.

Congratulations to all the lucky hunters that drew this year. Just another year of points for me . A good friend did draw 076-081 elk so at least I'll be out in the hills tagging along with him. As usual with the difficulty drawing tags we may draw a tag for an area that we're not familiar with...

There's no private property that I know of. There's a reason why tags are so easy to get in the area
