backpack archery deer hunt

I am hoping the Colorado guys could give some advise? I am interested in a backpack archery deer hunt in a Wilderness area. I have never hunted Colorado and have no idea where to start doing research. Any information regarding Wilderness areas,hunt units,tags,etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Though I have never hunted archery deer ,I have archery hunted elk in Colorado.I founf the DOW in the area I wanted to hunt was real helpful in helping me plan my hunt.
The DOW web site has the statistics on previous years success,this will help in selecting an area.
The areas in the NW part of the state has good numbers of deer and some good access to wilderness areas.

Do you know what area you want to hunt? I archery hunt deer and muzzle deer when I draw. If I was you I would buy David Long's book on deer hunting he has some great tips on backpacking and things that are good to know about the high country and safety in the high Archery hunting the high country is 365 days a year preperation. Shooting, excersize, and learning the area you want to hunt. Top of the line gear is a must.
