Here are a couple bulls I saw the other day. Not very impressive growth for this time of year. But....given our GOS spike/fork seasons, these 2 will probably both be legal come Sept. It is always a needle in a haystack to find these ellusive immys so I was pretty happy to find 2 hanging out together.
Here is a little bear my work partner and I encountered this past week.
A little muley buck from yesterday. I don't know if the black things on his nose are warts or maybe perhaps ticks?
Today I was back working in the same area as I saw the cow moose and twins last week. I was worried one of the twins was missing. Thought maybe a bear got it over the weekend. But after looking at the pics, I'm sure this is a different momma and calf. I think I might of stumbled upon a nursery. Saw a muley doe with twin fawns in the same block as well today. I wished I had of had my camera when I saw them. Was real cool to watch both fawns take a turn at nursing.
Saw this bull yesterday morning. He has some real good early growth.
Also saw this muley buck already into his fourths.
On Father's Day, the Dana clan participated in my dad's annual .22 shoot known as Papa's Turkey Shoot. We all get together and have a fun shoot and eat turkey dinner afterwards. It is a great family tradition.
Just the same as several previous year's shoots, my wife, Shannon, won hands down.
Here's some more pics from the last week.
I found this moose shed last week at work in a recent logged cutblock. This is the first shed I've found that has been cut by a feller buncher.
Saw this bull this morning. The growth seems to be coming along great this year.
Today the British Columbia Limited Entry draw results were released. Both the kids got NIL but I was able to pull muley doe tag and yet another Bull Moose tag. 3rd year in a row for Bull Moose. Guess applying for low odds hunts with poor success rates works eh? With tags like this one, the luck isn't in pulling the tag, the luck is in actually finding a bull to shoot. But I'm up to the challenge and we'll see if this can be the third year in a row that I kill a moose. As for the rest of the fall, I guess I'll be hunting the General Open Seasons. With only 3 months to hunt trophy muleys, I don't know how I'll be able to enjoy it.
