Bear Skull and Pedestal

I just wanted to post some pictures of my Boon and Crocket Kodiak Brown Bear skull and my pedestal done by Wade Hanks and Hobble Creek Woods. I think that it turned out awesome. Sorry about the last picture it was kind of dark and didn't turn out that great. If you want to see pictures of the bear look under Alaska hunts and it was taken in 2009 off Afognak Island in Kodiak, Alaska.

What happened to the skull next to his left eye? It's interesting how many skulls have some type of damage. I clean around 30-40 skulls every year and many of them have some type of damage.

The damage was cased by my first shot placement. Yeah I know never shoot a bear in the head it just makes him mad!!! Well I did break him neck with that shot and he still ran near 300 yards but I think it make a awesome story now that I got the skull back. I will ad pictures of the rug soon. He was a brute of a bear.
