Bears out of Dens Yet?

I've been up 3 times scouting and looking for sign. So far, haven't cut a track yet on Manti North or spotted one yet glassing. Am I just a bit too early still?

I saw a sow with three cubs 500 yards up the hill from the highway about half-way between Heber and Daniels on Tuesday the 10th around 4:15pm.

She was nice and fat considering it was early spring with three mouths to feed.

If you are looking to get a bear on the north manti your best bet is to hire a guy with dogs, you are going to have a hard time getting one without dogs and not being able to bait.

For sure, it would be easier with a guide and hounds. This is a DIY hunt for me. If I don't get one, I still will get to spend lots of time in the mountains.

If you are just going to spot and stalk i would try over by skyline mine, castle valley ridge area. big canyons and you can see fairly good.

Ok, I have been spending most of my time over by Dairy and Lake ridges, I may have to venture over by the mine to do some glassing...
