Best route

I'm traveling from Oregon to Canada next weekend for a moose hunt. Planning on Crossing at Sumas. Tempted to go over Snoqualmie Pass and cut North and hit I-5 just north of Seattle. Last time I was through that way Snoqualmie was bad for road construction. Any feedback on how it would be now? Or do I just buckle down and bear through the I-5 chaos?

I'd say it depends on the time of day, earlier the better. Construction wasn't too bad last w/e & totally beats the cluster of downtown Seattle. Good luck on the moose.
