Would like to find some grouse and Hunns near the big horns south of Sheridan.
Taking a disabled marine this October. Be great to have a general starting point.
Thanks for any information.

Not sure how much walking the individual is able to do but id expect to walk a bunch to find wild birds on public land around there. Maybe consider the bird farm by ucross i don't remember what its called clear creek hunt club or something like that

We are definitely going on public.
He can walk far enough.
He just has trouble on steep and rocky terrain.
We are not bird farm hunters.

There are a few sharptails on the state land about 10 miles east of Sheridan on Highway 14. Also there is a large block of state land on Dutch Creek, west of Ulm that has some sharpies. Haven't seen a lot of huns anywhere in the past few years. Seems to vary from yr to yr, depending on severity of winter. If you're around Nov 1, there are quite a few areas around Sheridan that are stocked with pheasants by the G&F. Pretty fun.

Thanks. We appreciate it and awfully lot.
We probably will only hunt a couple days for birds.
That's plenty enough of a start in the right direction to keep us busy.

Most the birds i saw in public land last year were a ways from the road. Also having a good dog to work the big brush piles will help you allot
