Black Bear question

I read the B&C Black Bear score requirements. 20” honorable, 21” book.

As mature Black Bear come and go, is a 19.5” a large skull or a typical sized bear.

Opinions appreciated. I’m not big on mounts so I’m inclined to rug him but kind of have a soft spot when it comes to honoring top end big game animals and giving them the recognition they earned. (That’s a little “ weird “ but it is what it is.

Anyway, thanks, I appreciate your in sight. Bear data isn’t in my wheel house, by any stretch.

I would call that on the large size from All the bears I’ve scored over the years. Majority of the nicer bears IMO are between the 18- 19 range that I’ve scored. So ya I would consider that in the large to X-Large (mature) category. Nice bear congrats!

Yes its a big bear the majority of 7ft+ bears we take have a 19.5 inch average skull size.
