One of the species that surprised me.

I thought they were interesting looking no more no less.

The Clowns of the Kalahari are actually quite interesting.

White whiskers, brown body, forward sweeping horns. They run and kick and buck like a horse. The hair that sticks up on their nose. Their mane down their back.

Very fortunate to take this big old bull after looking at some many quality trophies in Namibia.

This was in July 2017 with Schalk Pienaar Safaris in Namibia.

Nice Black wildebeest.

I met Schalk this year when he was doing a leopard hunt on one of the areas my outfitter uses for leopard and plains game. He is good friends with Pieter delport the Ph I hunt with in Namibia. He was a good guy and we had some good laughs.

I had no thoughts of hunting or even seeing a black wildebeest my first time to Africa, but at the last minute things changed. A nice black wildebeest was actually the first animal I saw when the sun rose on my first day in Africa. I took that same bull, spot and stalk with a bow, a couple days later. It's still one of my favorite trophies after three trips. Congratulations on yours.
