Not hunting related...

The family and myself are doing a road trip back east in May and will be heading east on I-40 and will be hitting Flagstaff around 5 pm the first night. We're hoping to find a place on National Forest just before or just after Flagstaff where we could camp over night that is also not more than 3 miles off I-40.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

about 12 mi. West of Flag, take Belmont exit 185.Good fuel stop and prices.Go West on frontage rd. a mile or so,several camping rds. to the N. ... Bruce & SilverGrand

I would also say Bellemont. At the exit just take the road along the highway and go west. You can camp anywhere out there.

SE of flag is Lake Mary Goggle earth it. It a good spot.
It a little more then a mile 1 or 2 off the I-40.
