central public land?

Hey, folks new to the forum
somehow I ended up with a central archery deer tag, I
know the deer herd numbers have decreased quite a bit
in this region over the last few years, wasatch front is quite a drive for me but id like to check it out anyway, if anybody could point me in the right direction up there id be most appreciated, like to scope it out before the opener,

You can change the region it is good for before the hunt. Archery tags have no cap on the region. You just have to do it before next Friday.

Is this true? Do you have to go to a DWR office or can you do it at a licensing agent?
