The first trip was made to scout (procrastination being a family trait)

They are just getting in the mood, best two were a 370 and a 320. I am hoping for the ML folks to have a wonderful hunt but with swirling winds so as they don't have it too easy to take any of the bigger ones!

Have any of you ever hiked the "pack trail" from the green river to the rim of cold spring mtn?

Pics and further chapters will follow, going back in a few days.

Are you talking the trail that leaves 318 about 1.5 miles west of the turn to Vermilion Creek ranch? Or the on far west end of unit that comes out of beaver creek? Or the one out of joe basin? All three are pretty rough and with the south slopes they are hot dry and long...

The one that goes straight uphill a bit east of CR 166 and sorta parallels goodman gulch. I looked for the upper T/H and ended up all tangled up in fences up top, finally found a wire gate looked like it hadn't been opened in 5 years entering a wilderness study area. Not certain if it is the uphill entrance to this particular trail or not. More boot leather will tell.

My question is what are my odds of finding water on that nasty steep dry hill.

I hope to hike the Big Joe trail off of CR 10N next trip.

Got a hot tip on flat land bulls but they are wrong side of hwy in #2 R U holding paper on that?

My current situation precludes me from caring about your opinion but go ahead and give voice to it anyway...

Got a bit more interesting with the rut starting to kick in.
I think this one will do if he doesn't break anything.

And did the same as the elk do in the mid day heat.

Very nice!

Congrats on your tag. I'm interested in your write up and pics.

Some day I hope to hunt that unit also.

What the hell kind of a tag do you have???? Where is the elk? Second season is almost here, and wondering if you have a forever tag? Any method special permit or PLO?
