Colorado 3rd season units 4, 441, 214, 14

Has anyone hunted this unit cluster for deer 3rd season? Tag quota is high, but I have a chance at a landowner tag there for this fall. Are all4 units included in landowner tag? And where do u think a guy should focus for deer? I hunted 5 last year and had a good hunt. Thanks for any information. Willing to trade for wyoming info. Email if u [email protected]

Depends on the tag. Some landowner tags are good unit wide meaning they can be used on the public land others are truly private land only. But if the hunt code for the license is good for all units then it could be used in all units but would still be private only or both public and private.

I would say this, being a NR to Colorado, and given what the CPW has done to the deer herds, you would almost have to give me a tag for the units mentioned. Only way I would pay more than $100 for that voucher would be if I had no other deer hunting opportunity anywhere...

Lived in Craig for almost 10 years and hunted them a good chunk. The deer quantity had always been decent but quality has always been an issue. But given the last couple years of management and now the later seasons, a hunt where a guy could expect to easily find 3-4 year old bucks but now most bucks killed are going to be 2-3. Also with this years later season dates a few of the units will could have some real access issues as the public ground in those units mostly sits higher on the forest and snow might have all the deer pushed down into the private where access gets tricky.

The public access isn't very good. Lot of deer, but like was mentioned all young bucks. Tag allocations killing all the older bucks. Some big bucks down on the private.
