colorado mule deer with upper canines

Thought I would share this eastern plains Colorado mule deer with upper canines. I have been big game hunting for 45 years with more than 50 deer harvested and this is a first for me. Anyone else shot any of these? From what information I have found basically prehistoric genes passed on. The article also said this is found in less than 1% of mule deer. One more note this deer tested postive for CWD.

Can't say I've ever noticed upper canines. But if I have, I probably would have said "Hmmmpff. Weird looking teeth." Now that I've seen these, I'll look. If it matters, most of my kills have been whitetails.

BTW, nice deer with a nice mount. Congrats.
