Hey All -

I spent three and half days hunting antelope in the Douglas area. The entire time I was there I did not see or hear one coyote. Slept in my truck 4 nights - nothing. Sat water holes and drove around a bit - not one sighting. Found a 3 day old dead antelope that the maggots were wroking over...otherwise untouched.

They have mange bad in that area? Seemed odd to me.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-03-10 AT 07:21AM (MST)[p]Coyote hunting has gotten much more popular. Without being familiar with that area I can't say for sure but thats probably a factor. Also, it seems like the sheep ranchers are pretty agressive about keepling the populations down too. I think the decrease in coyotes is a major reason why the Antelope population is doing so well in most areas. I wish someone would come to wisconsin and kill all the little bast**ds around here too!
