Crazy French Ranch

Remains to be seen if public hunting will be allowed. We need to be kept informed about that.

leased the grazing on the mesa top of what is now crazy french in 1981...the most beautiful place that remains in my memory....few elk back then but super wide 30+ bucks that would lay while you rode by them...the north and south sides didnt have a fence because of the cliffs...would like to take my grandson up there and show him but i cant find a contact...the top is open flat golf course quality grass when it rains...deserves to be protected...i am a rock ribbed conservative hunter

It is epic up there! The deer do not exist like that anymore.

i lived in yankee canyon east of raton in the early 80s...one day i was washing dishes and saw a cow elk on the mountain thru my kitchen window..they were a novelty back then ...i got accustomed to seeing great bucks but i always chose to hunt with my dad down south, glad i did, he died soon after...looking back its weird how bad i wanted a big muley and really want one now when im about to hang it up...but when i was around them everyday i had no desire...
