D14 Next Weekend

Morning Fella's

It's my first year to hunt. I drew a D14 tag. I'm headed up there next week, scout Thursday, hunt Friday thru Sunday. I've done map scouting and found some imagery of the area, but this will be the first time on site. Had several previous trips planned for scouting, but fell through.

To be honest, I don't expect to fill the tag this time out. We're headed up there again before season's end so chances might be better second time around. But I thought I would ping you all for any tips specific fo Southern California, especially the San Bernadino National Forrest.

I haven't even figured out the rut timing around here. Everything I've found is for north and east, especially white tails, but nothing about SoCal Blackies.

I read what I can, but I'm anxious to have the real deal. The anticipation is killing me. I hope to learn as much on this first trip and I did reading for the past 2 years.

Can you all point me in a good direction?

I was up in the very north edge of D13 yesterday and the bucks are rutting. Good luck.
