Deer unit 131 Public Land

LAST EDITED ON Dec-30-08 AT 06:22PM (MST)[p]Anyone hunt unit 131? Any good bucks on the Public Land? I have never hunted this unit ,but am applying for antelope and thinking maybe deer.Just looking for info.

Deer #'s out there are not high but there are some quality bucks running around. Sagebrush is deep so you almost have to step on them.

Opening weekend out there is horrible with the number of hunters out there. Its a mad house out there.

Planning an antelope hunt,but may forget the deer. Just wondered how they were doing,never hunted this area before.

I wouldn't waste points for the area but if you are going to be there for a few days a deer tag in your pocket wouldn't be bad. I'm not sure if those are leftover tags or not. I believe its region K.

Some unique country there. Sand dunes, petroylphs, lots of elk, interesting butte formations, can't beat it.

You'll have a blast.

I think deer 131 is Region W, not K!!! I have never been there but in Google Maps it look like great country. Good luck! I am on the same boat, but looking at a different area (for Antelope 68 and E for Deer).

Never hunted 68 ,but I have 67.Me and my two sons took 3 nice goats there on a three day hunt,but did not see any deer,not even one.
