DIY South Dakota and Nebraska with OTC archery tags

Several opportunities here for those still wanting to hunt mule deer or whitetails this fall. Plenty of MM guys for references and pics from properties.

10,000 acres in Western SD with both species present. Corn/alfalfa/wheat along the White River with a place to stay. 150 plus WTs and 160 plus MD with the possibility of bigger. Looking for 2 archers for October or the first week of November. $2900

1600 acres in SD with river frontage and a half mile of the Keya Paha River in Nebraska. Primarily whitetail. Corn in the ag fields. Properties are all within 20 minutes of each other. Looking for a pair of archers to hunt for a week. Only archers for the year. Includes lodging. $2500 for the week and could shoot a second buck for a fee. 140 plus WTs.

2300 acres in Mellette County with both species present. Most of the property is irrigated corn with several draws leading to the corn on all parcels. Looking for 2-3 archers for the season. Only archers for the year. Great numbers. Includes a place to stay. $1500

I have no open spots for rifle but am willing to give preference to bow hunters who want to turn around and gun hunt in a year or two.

Also, hunters went 6 for 6 this year on Merriams in Jackson County, SD. Looking for a group to fill 2023. $650 per. Includes lodging.

Update to what’s available.

Mule deer hunts in Jackson County are full. If you want to chase mule deer with a bow there is still the opportunity to chase them in Mellette County on 2300 acres. Good deer numbers of both species and a place to stay. Irrigated corn fields with cedar draws just south of the White River. $1500 for a week includes lodging.

The 4 parcels in Tripp County, SD totaling over 1800 acres and 2300 acres in Nebraska with frontage on the Keya Paha River could be combined for up to 3 hunters. (2 in SD and one in NE). All properties are within 20 minutes of camp. Only archers on the place for the year. Choose a week with lodging. If 3 came together price could be reduced from $2500 to $1900.

2 Merriam hunts remain in Jackson County, SD. Great spot for a pair of hunters. $650 with lodging.

Tripp County, SD and NE hunts are full.

Mellette County, SD mule deer/whitetail hunt for 2-3 archers still open

Gregory County, SD 6000 acres can take 3-4 archers the end of October. Also, 600 acres on Ponca Creek in Gregory County open for 2 archers (only ones all year on this place/archery only). Awesome lodge available for both.

Friend from Colorado has two Eastern Plains whitetail only rifle vouchers with private land access available for Dec 1-14 hunt. 4,000 acres.

(1) Eastern Plains WT only archery tag good on 20k acres. Mid-November.

Muzzy spot and stalk mule deer in the eastern plains with access to tag as well.

All DIY. Will provide past history, stand locations, glassing points, etc. Need to be skilled with OnX.

Still looking for a pair of guys to hunt Whitetails on 600 acres in Gregory Co, SD. Would be the only two for the year.

Up to 4 guys to whitetail hunt a 6000 acre Gregory County ranch the last week of October.

Archery mule deer and WT in West River (Mellette County) and East River (Hughes County). Also would be the first hunters on these properties.

All 5-6 day hunts and have lodging for $1500. Tags are essentially OTC.

What’s the success rate on the SD hunt ?

Success rates vary depending on whether a guy can shoot, hunts the wind, and in general knows what they are doing. If you’re a good hunter then I would say you will see great deer and have a good chance at killing one.

I can give you a couple MM members that have hunted these properties in the past. If you like seeing lots of deer and being the only one on anywhere from 600 to 6000 acres then I don’t know where you are going to find that opportunity for $1500. Two of these places have not had a bowhunter on them since I have had access. We rifle hunted a couple of them for the first time last year. Guns are 100%. See the pics thy have been attached to the posts. The rifle hunters have seen 20-25 bucks a day in mid-November.
