LAST EDITED ON May-24-19 AT 05:48PM (MST)[p]So with two points I drew 035 and I'm looking forward to getting out and to some new country. My buddy Drew as well I am we've got some spots that were ready to go scouting. We?ve never hunted 035 before but looking forward to seeing some new country and cover and some new ground. Going to head out July and do a scouting trip maybe two. What I love best about this site is a lot of people are willing to help and that includes myself when possible. Hope my friends Drew some great tags here on M/M and best of luck to everyone this season.

LAST EDITED ON May-24-19 AT 06:04PM (MST)[p] Congratulations
This is a great year to have a tag in Nevada.
I'm sure you will find some good bucks.
Get yourself into the best physical shape you can because the Jacksons are steep and you will need to get up into the high country to find them.

Congrats! I love hunting the Jacksons. I've only hunted it with a rifle a couple times, but I've been pretty successful.
I agree with the earlier post, its steep, big country, but there are deer to be found up there.
Good luck!

That's a big hunting area 035, assuming that all the deer in the Jackson?s?
Where?s the water at in the jacksons? What TH?s are good starting points?

If Hunting and Angling Ended
There is no alternative funding system
in place to replace the potential lost
funds for conservation. If hunting and
angling end, funding for wildlife
conservation, including enforcement of
all wildlife laws, will be jeopardized.
Hunters, anglers and shooters actively
support wildlife conservation through
tangible actions such as buying licenses
and paying taxes on hunting, fishing and
shooting equipment. Why are hunters and
anglers so willing to support
conservation through their pocketbooks?
Because people place added value on ?
and are willing to pay for ? what they
can use.

I don't assume all the deer are in the Jackson's. Heck there are some great bucks in the alfalfa fields in all of unit 035.
I was just passing on my experience in that unit.
To answer your second question, I never took the time to figure out where the water is in that unit. Deer travel a long way for water and food, so I've never put the time in to look for either. I get up high and glass a lot.
Like we said, it's really big, steep country, and a lot of it is roadless.
Good luck

This is the map I have. It pretty much covers all you will need.(IMO)
There is also the bloody runs and the Osgood?s but for archery you're better off sticking high in the Jackson?s.

This is the photo that will appear in your post.

Osgoods are in 051.

Yes they are. Thanks for the correction.
I've been practicing my power to move mountains but it doesn't seem to be working lately....

Let me know when you have it perfected. I want to move some of Nevada's ranges a little closer to home.

Pale and buckhorn, do you guys live in Winnemucca or surrounding? Going to plan a 3-4 scouting mission in the Jacksons in July.

I live in Oregon

I hunted that unit twice during rifle season. Big steep country! You'll have a great time there, good luck!

Going back into this unit again for 2020. My couple days of scouting led me to my last stop in the Bloodys. I really liked that Jackson country, steep and deep. But I saw more sheep than deer. The deer I did find were up higher than the sheep! Anyways, going back again and wanted to relight the post.
