Tomorrow night, we will hold the first of two informal mule deer open houses in northern Utah. We want to gather input from the public, answer questions and discuss deer-recovery efforts.
Our wildlife and habitat biologists will be there to listen to your concerns and to discuss topics of interest: predator management, deer-population recovery efforts, habitat loss, highway mortality, depredation and unit-by-unit hunting strategies, to name a just few.
If you're interested in attending, here's what you need to know:
[ul]
[li]April 14 (tomorrow night) ? Logan, Cache Valley Hunter Education Center (2851 West 200 North), 6?8:30 p.m.[/li]
[li]April 21 (next Thursday) ? South Ogden, South Ogden City Community Facility (3950 South Adams Avenue), 6?8:30 p.m.[/li]
[/ul]
There will also be an open house in southern Utah on April 21. It will be in St. George at the Washington County Commission Chambers (197 East Tabernacle St.), from 5?8 p.m.
I've heard that our Central Region is considering three different open house locations, but dates have not yet been scheduled. I'll keep checking with them and post specifics as soon as I have them.
