Early bugle Reports?

Anyone hear anything from archery hunters yet? We got word from a guy bear hunting our area in Southern CO that the elk were screaming this morning. We don't leave till Tuesday so I'm kind of regretting we delayed!

I understand it, bow hunters have waited a year and can’t stand to wait any longer. The longer you wait the better it will be. You haven’t waited to long. I wish you the very best for your hunt. Family, commitments, vacation, etc. dictate when time is available to hunt. If you want screaming bulls, the last week of the season after the muzzle loaders are gone is it. The few muzzle tags have little effect on on the elk and the rut. I have muzzle load hunted for decades and dreamed of hunting the last week of bow season.

Bulls are talking in the gunnison country this morning.

Mostly leading agitated cows around. I heard another bull singing and grunting from his bed, i speculate.

Definitely not talking in the midday heat

None here, but the closest elk lives about 600 miles away
