Elk massacre 1875

Thought I would share this antique postcard. I found it interesting that they were shooting elk just for their hides back then. Kind of a sad ordeal I like to eat the meat and who doesn’t like elk antlers.

You have to remember, they were just looking for resources. They didn't have artifical clothing, they didn't have refrigerators.

If they needed furs and winter was coming, better get to shooting.
