I was lucky enough to draw one of the expo tags. I was then lucky enough to have one of the most memorial hunts of my life with a great friend (south slope) and 2 of my kids.
We found 2 shooters, this heavy 4 point and a extremely wide 3 point. We made plans for the next morning to get into a spot we could glass the canyon 2 buck had been in the night before. As luck would have it we found the heavy 4 point at first light opening morning. A well placed shot from my grandfathers 264 win mag, at 305 yards and my best buck was down. 12 min in to a 9 day hunt. I couldn’t be happier!!
This was a special hunt for me! This was a great ending to an amazing year, with a great friend of 30+ years and 2 of my kids and hunt with my grandfathers old 264 win mag.
My sons and daughter can’t wait to hunt this unit for themselves. As you can see by my sons smile, he is hooked.
