I have caught numerous tags that were scooped up but had not cleared my screen yet because I hadn't been timed out. But, when I clicked on add to cart, it says it was unavailable. I have spent every minute on FCFS tonight and did not see the ML tag. I am just saying I KNOW that is sketchy because there is NO WAY I could've missed it. I missed a tag earlier that was my #1 tag so I have been on every minute since. (Shoulders shrugged)

If you look at the little clock on your screen it refreshes every 30 seconds or so. Totally possible a tag comes up and is snagged before your 30 second window passes and you never see it.

Yes. If someone gets it between when they put it up and your computer refreshes (a random thing based on your time), you will not see it. There is the luck of when you get on the FCFS page.

Very much anti-static! I have seen my screen saying "loading tags", and thinking, gotta refresh at that! It's a gamble even when you are glued to the screen and even then as fast as you can click you may get fcfs soup, especially this year!

Snagging a desert ram tag will take lots of luck no matter how much time you waste. But you won't get one if you don't try. There time your computer refreshes is not tied to when they put it up and is a bit over 30 seconds, not the same every time. It's part of the plan.

Agreed, hope them fellas have unlimited data! I have been keeping a running tracker this year when I am on...way down from last year but my numbers aren't precise.

I got an 021 late rifle tag last year. Agree that if you stew on it for even a few seconds, it's probably gone. But better odds than drawing for most of the late season returns. FCFS is a new part of my strategy

It would have to be something pretty serious that would knock me out for 6 weeks to return the tag before you return the tag before the season. I guess it could happen, but I think I would figure something out to go if I had a desert ram tag and was waking up in a hospital busted up from a car crash or open heart surgery after a heart attack today. If nothing else, get the doctor to write a note if I couldn't get out of the hospital bed before it closes

Maybe 2-3 tags get returned in the FCFS window?

I've noticed it will stay up until you refresh or leave that FCFS page.

They do not, as Wis said. I think average kick time is around 11-13 mins, so it will stay there until you refresh or get kicked.

This past Thurs was lucky enough to pickup an 271-272 alw deer tag. So now this is on my screen if/when I sign in for a look ... had not been mentioned earlier or seen. GOOD LUCK to those still wanting and or those that have ... Bruce & SilverGrand

If you have a tag for each and they are in season, sure!!! But 061, 071 Bull is over for the season, yesterday was closing for ALW rifle!

Bruce, that disclaimer about the one tag in a 7-day period in your cart has been there all along this year. It is what has kept me from adding a deer tag in hope of an elk tag I want popping up. Look at the bolded lettering at the bottom of your screen.

“New for this year: A person is limited to adding one tag to their shopping card in a 7-day period. Make sure the tag you add to your cart is the one you intend to purchase. Check back later to continue participation in the FCFS program.”

Did they recently change this? I’m guessing so cause I’ve had a bull and cow tag same year on two separate occasions. Couple years back when they were trying to murder cows by the boat load and sent the entire herd to another state…

Not sure when it changed but here's page 17 of the Big Game regs:

Eligible persons may apply for both antlered and antlerless
elk. The antlered application will be evaluated and
awarded before the antlerless application. A person may
only obtain one elk tag per year.

A guy I know was able to get if for his son. Will be a good hunt for them. Especially with the weather moving in like it is. Nice to be able to hunt close to home if you can.

I like hunting that unit. I wish they'd issue more than just 2-4 NR ALW tags a year. I like the area.....
