Headed to NW AZ mid January 2021 for OTC Mule Deer. I have a guide for this trip, but what are the top things/items you would suggest for a first trip other than LISTEN to your guide?

Thank you

TAKE THE RIGHT CLOTHING IT MIGHT BE COLD, USE THE BEST GLASS YOU CAN FIND, TAKE YOUR TIME, ITS NOT A RACE, FIND A DEVICE TO SHOOT OFF OF.........LIKE YOUR PACK OR SHOOTING STICKS. GET ALONG WELL WITH YOUR GUIDE, HE MIGHT BUST HIS BUTT FOR YOU.....OR GO THE XTRA MILE FOR YOU......YD.

Don't over-state your fitness level, or shooting ability, and have good communication with your guide.

I took a guided elk hunt several years ago. The guide knew I was a marathon runner at the time, and it worked to my advantage. After we climbed to 12,000 feet, and got within 500 yards of a shooter elk, he asked if I was good with the shot. I said no, 400 was my limit, so we closed the distance down to about 340. We also crossed an "ice cliff" that made me think WTH am I doing??!! If I fall, I'm dead!! And I told him I wasn't going back that way!

Good luck and post pics!!
