Flaming Gorge

I know it's not hunting but man the Gorge was a blast this weekend! Caught some great fish and had the lake to ourselves! Here are some of the fish we caught. I'll take hunting over fishing any day but days like this on the lake are hard to beat!

yeah it is a kokanee. We threw it back thinking the season was still closed and then later found out Dec. 1st you can keep them again... I was mad we didn't look it up before we left because they are good eating.

Nice! Thats pretty cool to be able to catch kokanee in December! They are definitely one of my favorite fish and probably top of the heap when it comes to table fare. They won't be showing up in the lakes I fish till about mid to late April at the earliest.

I remember when the Gorge was pumping out world record brown trout at a clip! Wish I could have gotten in on those days!!!
