World record deer shot in San Juan... 42 years ago

A deer hunter from Southeastern Utah discovered recently that he was not only famous but richer because of a lucky shot 42 years ago.

I had to triple read that number myself. I tried to find a google image of its score break down. Couldn’t. Looking at the picture would indicate the author of that article misunderstood what Mrs. Johnson meant about 15” bases. Pictures are deceiving but the bases on Mr. Johnson’s magnificent buck do not look 15” at the base to me.

What are the bases on the World Record B & C bull elk.

Never the less, what a fantastic family legacy.

I have upmost respect for Keele Johnson and his efforts to preserve Utah’s mule deer for sport hunting.

That buck is what dreams are made of..bucks like that is what keeps alot of us chasing Muley's every year...but he's not the world record typical.. He scores 196 1/8 B&C and is ranked #93 in Utah's biggest bucks
