Globe sight instal

Installing western Precision sight and was curios if there's a better location for the rear peep? closer to eye or further away? Ive been archery hunting for 25 years so this is somewhat new for me as all my rifles are all scoped.
 
also to note that mounted in the furthest from the eye the co witnessing is very much off and I would need to lower my cheek placement to accomplish this.. I know a lot will depend on how it shoots but this seems very un natural.
 
I’m not sure how or why you’d want co witness with your peep as I’m assuming you’re using it because scopes are illegal? The furthest you can get the front and rear sight from each other the better.

Cowitness was a poor choice of words. I'm referring to peep and globe alignment.
