Drew my tag and am really looking forward to this muley season. Getting to hunt a large piece of private ranch land and would like to hear some of your experiences in this area. We'll be hunting Nov. 3-9. What does the average week of weather during that time frame usually present? Do any of you have any pics of past hunts in the area?

I've only done some camping in that unit, closer to the north end so I won't hazard a guess on quality. It is close to some units that punch out good bucks so if the ranch is Ok you should be fine. Buy yourself a OTC Bull tag.

What I can comment on is the weather. You can't predict what it will be like. You could have T-shirt weather or you could have very cold and snowy winter conditions. You are going to have to come prepared for any of those conditions.

Thanks for the reply. The ranch is north of Kremmling about 20 miles if that helps. Also, can you really buy a bull elk teg OTC for this unit?

You can buy a OTC bull tag for that unit during 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons. There are also leftover cow elk tags for that unit, the cow tags are list B tags which means you could buy one of those, as long as they are not sold out, and buy a OTC Bull tag if you really wanted to go whole hog. It's too bad you are'nt hunting 4th or 2nd season because there are leftover
EITHER sex elk tags for Private Land Only.
