I've got the same daypack, and prefer to carry my tripod inside the pack, so that limits you to one that can fold up to about 19". The ST-80 is a pretty stout spotter, but a sturdy mid-weight tripod should do the job. One that has adjustable angle legs that folds up to that size is the Velbon EFL-4. It weighs about 4 lbs, and you can comfortably sit behind it. The tripod probably goes for about $75, then you'll need to get a panhead, which can range from $35 - $250.
