I got a new rifle a Browning Hells canyon speed in a 26 Nosler caliber was wondering if anyone on here has this caliber? I don't reload from what I can find only Nosler is loading factory ammo in 129 grain long range acubond bullets & 140 grain acubond bullets! Anyone use these bullets? What was the results? I normally use Barnes TSX bullets with great results! I will only be hunting deer with this gun but want to be able to shoot out to 500 yards accurately! Thanks

uh huh....and the same exact "caliber"....like the OP asked.

PS: A 26 Nosler may be 6.5 mm, just like a 260 Remington or many others but his question should be read Slow.

He is seeking others whom have THIS Cartridge + Factory Ammo results by members.

I think Homer is trying to educate us on the difference between cartridge and caliber.

The only thing the same in those two cals. is the bullet diameter. the 26 Nosler could give them a head start, and still all these would see is the 26's tails lights!! And the long range performance isn't even close..

right....no kidding.....but they are all the same caliber....that is what he asked....caliber refers to bullet diameter only.

read slow???...you mean it would mean something other than what it says if read slowly??...or maybe his question should be asked properly....as gun owners and shooters, why would we want to sound as gun illiterate as the antigun media???

Might be nit-picking,BUT if one knows the difference between cartridge and caliber, some of us would be more willing to respond. mtmuley

I guess one don't own a 26 Nosler CARTRIDGE /CALIBER then or one might be willing to help somebody out! Unless you own one why even respond to my post?

I own 2 of what you asked......words do mean things.

I suspect you could count on 1 hand the MM'ers that have a 26 nosler...they are relatively new...sounds like a great cartridge to me.

It is an answer without a question though....we have so many similar cartridges to pic from

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-16 AT 10:45AM (MST)[p]I don't own a 26 Nosler but I helped build one for a friend of mine.Stiller action Brux barrel PTG bottom metal and Manners Eh 1 stock. I bought a reamer from Midway and the barrel from Bugholes and had a local gunsmith chamber and thread the barrel. I installed a Shilen trigger and glass bedded the action into the stock. The gunsmith installed a muzzle brake for him also. He did shoot some factory loads in it at the beginning but is handloading 140 VLD's for it now. He likes it, but his wife has taken it over as she loves it. He says it is a one hole gun and doesn't kick because of the brake. My 264 mag custom doesn't look at the tail lights of his 26 as he is using about 10 grains more powder and shooting about 50-75 fps slower. His is a 26 in barrel and my custom is a 28 in barrel. Nosler shows 3250 fps with 88 gr of US 869 powder and I am getting 3280 fps out of my 264 with 68.5 gr of Retumbo and 140 grain bullets. You could hot rod the 26 more I'm sure but the 264 is no slouch with the new slow burning powders available.
By the way we're building a 28 Nosler for the same friend as we speak, just waiting for the stock from Manners,(ordered April 29th) same as above except Bartlien barrel.

According to the Nosler catalogue, the factory 140 gr. 264 velocity at 800 yards is 1619, and the 142 gr. factory load 26 nosler is 2275 at 800 yards. Just sayin...

My 264 is going 2301 fps at 800 yards verified by my drops to 1300 yards. I do actually shoot my rifles and don't just look up numbers in a catalog.
Just sayin...

Holy crap Birdhntr Nosler is starting them out at 2950, a 6.5x284 launches the 140's faster than that. They're also using the partition which has a BC of slightly better than a brick. I like the partition, used it for many years, but its not an 800 yard bullet, it sheds velocity very fast.
Just sayin...

Man this is one time I wish this forum had a "like" or "+1" or whatever button. One of these guys is getting owned :D

uh huh! Homer has it right and the rest of you think caliber is the came as cartridge. THAT's what Homer was getting at so YES his cartridges are the exact same caliber as the 26 Nosler. I just shot the exact same caliber too but it was chambered in 6.5 WSM

Apexman said "muzzle """brake""".
I like that since he didn't "break" it.
Yes, we need a "like" button for sure!
Zeke

PS: I think the 26 N is a real hot-rod but I'll build a 6.5 WSM for my next, next one again.
