This is too funny not to post and I don’t know any of you guys personally so here we go.
Let my bait run dry a week ago with all the work needed done around here so finished up my project and decided to grab the rifle and head out yesterday for a couple nights.
Hiked in about 3 miles to camp, got set up and headed up the hill to my glassing spot. Now, here’s where I’ll tell you, I can’t stand ticks. Just can’t. So hiking in I was looking. Get to camp check out my clothes all good. I wear gators and two long sleeves tucked in and not a tick on me. Super happy. Figure maybe their not to bad up this high
About 4 pm at my glassing spot I feel something on my hand. A tick, just one, no big deal so I kill it. Then I look at my shoulder, there’s another one. Ok, time to check. Pull off my one shirt, a dozen on my back. Damn it. Pull off my next shirt, another 8. On my body that I can see, another 4. Time to get naked
So there I am. Naked on the side of the mountain, I reach back and there is a tick about 2” from my butt hole. Now this is probably the only thing in this world I’m afraid of, is a tick, getting to my butt hole. So now, naked on the side of a mountain I’m trying to get a picture of my own butt hole to see if I missed one… It was at this point that I decided I really don’t care this much about killing another bear, I’ve killed plenty, got dressed, grabbed my chit and back to camp. Camp was crawling with them and that was it. Packed it all up, back to the truck and a two hour drive home.
I walk in and my wife says “what are you doing here” I just answered “ticks” she knows me pretty well and didn’t ask…I’ll kill a bear this fall
How do you guys keep those things off you?
