GRAY WOLF DELISTED.

Trump Administration Announces Gray Wolf Delisting Across Lower 48Today Secretary
of the Interior David Bernhardt, and Director Aurelia Skipwith of the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service announced that the gray wolf will be delisted across the entire
lower-48 states.

“Today’s action reflects the Trump Administration’s continued
commitment to species conservation based on sound science and facts,” said
Secretary Bernhardt. “After over 45 years as a listed species, the gray wolf
has greatly exceeded all conservation goals for recovery. By delisting the gray wolf
today, we can return management of wolf populations to the states.”

The Department of the Interior and The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recognize the
invaluable contributions and efforts that sportsmen make toward wildlife
conservation efforts. A press release from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service about
today's action states:

"Fish and wildlife conservation depends on federal partnerships with states,
landowners, and most importantly sportsmen who directly fund – to the tune of
$1 billion last year alone and more than $23 billion since inception –
conservation efforts by purchasing hunting and fishing licenses, fishing tackle,
ammunition, boating fuel and other recreational items."

The press release goes on to say:

"The gray wolf final delisting determination is based on sound science, a thorough
analysis of threats and how they have been alleviated, and the ongoing commitment
and proven track record of states and tribes to continue managing for healthy wolf
populations once delisted."

BigGame Forever strongly applauds today’s decision to fully restore state
management authority over Canadian gray wolves in the lower 48 states. This decision
is a critical next step to protecting and restoring abundant moose, elk, and deer
populations across America.

It is because of your efforts that the gray wolf has been delisted. Thank you for
all you have done and your continued support.

Sincerely,

Ryan Benson, President

BigGame Forever

Really? Excited to get wolves?
Yep I love them. Been hunting areas with them since the 90s. It’s all good. And we have tons of them up in AK. Pretty cool to see them and even better to be able to hunt them.
Hopefully Colorado will be able to hunt them in a few years.

Did I compare the two? Maybe work on your reading comprehension..
Ok maybe not directly. But Colorado is equal parts wildlife and equal parts ranching on the west slope. Unless you live here and have first hand knowledge maybe keep your comments to yourself. Don’t believe me, CPW has a pretty extensive report in 2016 explaining how much wolves would hurt Colorado. But jump on the bandwagon of koolaid and out of state funding shoving wolves down our throats.

Surely you’ll now input your “smarter than me” rhetoric from your hidden platform. Bottom line true Coloradans who have been here for generations know wolves are bad. You do you in your respective world. And we will do ours here.

Riiiiiight. True Coloradans. Guess what it’s going to a vote and the majority of people in Colorado want wolves. So deal with it.

I hope wolves eat some livestock in CO. Good riddance. Wolves over livestock any day of the week.

Hopefully one day grizz to Colorado too.

Yes let’s turn wolves loose in front range Colorado to eat yuppies puppies and see how they vote. I can only speak for me but I AM a true Coloradan and hit me up with a PM and let’s talk on the phone. Your spewing bullsh*t with what I can assume is only “troll” mindset expectations. Run your mouth, feel good in the moment and walk away. Don’t wanna talk on the phone, come down for a vacation on my beautiful ranch and see how things really work down here. Open invitation

Wow! SS said,”wolves over livestock any day of the week”. The same majority of people in Colorado that want wolves are the same majority that wI’ll make sure that there is never a wolf season in Colorado. Seems pretty narrow minded to me to think that you will be able to hunt them in CO in a few years.

I’ve spent enough time on ranches. If I never see another horse or throw another hay bale in my life that will be great. Thank you for the offer though.

You can send me a PM and I’ll gladly talk to you as soon as you get your head out of your butt and realize just maybe the world doesn’t revolve around hunters. That the wildlife is for everyone to view and enjoy. You should feel lucky that there’s a surplus to be able to hunt.

The majority of America want wolves and I’m ok with that. If I have to give up a little opportunity here and there because of it so be it . And it’s ok to be a hunter and appreciate wolves bears coyotes etc.

That’s cool if you don’t get it. Guys that hate wolves falls under the flat brim category to me. 🤣

Well!

If the management plan is from the DWR, then we got nothing to worry about!

They’re managing our deer herds into extinction!

Should be no different for the wolves!

Finally, a positive from a negative!

No man I called you out, I work for a living. Said PM me or come down for a vacation. No work implied. You could come hunt my “surplus” animals. Tonight it was about 40 elk, 6 legal bulls. 100 deer, nothing worth shooting yet but I’m hopeful. Fall flock of turkey numbering well over 150.

It’s real easy to preach knowledge and experience on a website forum. Put up what your preaching. You are glancing most of what I’m saying. Giving you a chance here on MM to prove your point. This world is divided. You reach out and make a legitimate argument and prove me wrong, fu*k yeah man I’m all about growth and learning. If I don’t grow as a man every single day it’s a wasted day. Maybe you can help. Ball is in your court...

Much love from what I’m hopeful is a fellow lover from all these wonderful critters we get to watch and at times try to outsmart.

Where did I preach knowledge or experience? If you’ve lived in Colorado your whole life then I guess I do have you beat on wolf experience. I’ve been around them for 95% of my life. What say you?

I did share what I’m “preaching”. I like wolves and see a place for them. I made it pretty clear. How can I make it any more clear?

the world is divided because some people want wolves and some don’t? You want everyone to agree on everything? That’s hilarious and sad at the same time. Also sounds kinda boring.

That’s cool you love all the animals...except wolves. I guess that makes me a better man than you since I love all animals.

Arguing in a public forum behind a super awesome screen name is kinda a waste of time. Hit me up if you want to hear my side and I’ll listen to yours. Otherwise you have a wonderful life, imma do the same.

It’s not a waste of time. You’ve realized your hypocritical thoughts and I get entertainment. Founder should charge for this stuff. I’d pay! I enjoyed reading your thoughts being a “true” coloradan. Stay safe out there!

Note to “slightlysober”: Why are so concerned about what is happening in Mountain States of the lower 48? You have spent “95%” of your life in Alaska. With the phenomenal wildlife resources available to you, why aren’t you out enjoying where you are?

Exactly your better than me, I welcomed you more than once. Spread love and positivity and you just wanna knock down a fellow hunter. Good on you man. I’ll wake up at 4am, put on my vest and protect my “Colorado”. Wish you the best, there’s always a better hand at play. Would have enjoyed your side of things, cause we all know there’s a million ways to skin a cat.

I haven’t spent 95% of my life in AK. Spent 22 years in Wyoming. I have a vested interest in America. And I do get out a lot. 15 full days shed hunting this spring. 10 day august sheep hunt. 11 day moose hunt this fall. Caribou hunting. Made it down to Wyoming elk and antelope hunting for a couple weeks. And I’ll be out watching moose waiting for them to drop antlers starting this weekend.

I enjoy Alaska to the fullest. And believe it or not we have a lot of wolves and bears and guess what....there’s still hunting! Shocker! It’s not the end of the world. Hell in Wyoming you can get 3 elk in a year.

the sky isn’t falling just cuz Colorado is getting some wolves. I was elk hunting in Colorado a couple years back. Can’t swing a dead cat without hitting an elk. We were in an OTC area and we got a nice bull without hardly trying. Colorado could use a few wolves.

It appears I wasted my time on this idiot. Enjoy that platform of crooked rocks you have built that platform from.

This one will hit hard for you and I’m sorry. You jump to put anyone or anything down and it makes you feel good in the moment. When you don’t have this or another forum to spew your dominance life hits you hard. Wish you would be positive and accept help, cause one day the darkness will fu*k your life up. Been there done that and it sucks.

Note to self, slightly sober has short man syndrome and gets off on putting others down to hide his problems.

Wish you the best, if you ever need help reach out. I’d be happy to help.

I’m 6 ft tall. I don’t believe that qualifies me for short man syndrome unless I was to play in the NBA or NFL perhaps.

have fun smelling manure tonight, tomorrow and every other day for the rest of your life 😝. Good luck elk and deer hunting this fall. Hope you tag out!

You live in paradise. Why so angry? A lot of Alaskan’s say wolves are hurting their moose hunting. The elk and deer herds in Colorado are in a steep decline. Wolves are not right for Colorado, especially the way it has been handled by out of state interests.

From what? Too many two legged wolves? Keep building on winter range. Maybe worry about habitat over a few wolves running around.

glad you can see the decline before wolves. Once you get wolves it will be blamed 100% on them😂😂😂

I’m not angry at all. It’s winter in AK so all the tourists have went home. I have the mountains to myself till June. Life is good. Might go sneak out for a mountain goat hunt if I get bored. Can only shoot 4 of those a year up here. Damn wolves keeping me from hunting!!

One last reply, what have you yourself, this year done to help-preserve wildlife on your home range. I can give hours and receipts here on animals I will only watch. You love/care about them all? What have you done besides pull a trigger or pick up a shed this year. We’re all waiting...

But that is your last reply so even if I tell you I won’t get the satisfaction of hearing you respond! Isn’t this like the 3rd time you said you’re done with this thread?

You’re trying to come across as a man with morals and one of principle. But you keep contradicting yourself. Come on man, stand for something! You said you’re done with this thread.

You can send me the receipts from your diesel purchases. All you ranchers have 4 door diesels and keep them running all day when it’s cold out. How do you sleep at night knowing all the exhaust and methane from your cows butts pollutes our air? That’s what you’re doing for our wildlife? Installing fences making barriers so coyotes can corner fawns? Fences so wildlife get stuck on them and die when they jump over them? Spraying chemicals for crops? You hate wolves but you are a wolf. You hate what you are!

You’re happy that wolves wed will hurt already declining herds?

You’re happy wolves will hurt already declining game herds? Seems angry to me. What is your favorite libation. Mine is tequila.

I've only hunted Colorado twice but I've got my deer points back up and look forward to going back next year, even if it takes a LO Tag to do it.

I don't agree with the new seasons CPW has put in place and dread what may come of Colorado's awesome herds. Wolves aren't going to help pretty much anybody.

Good luck next week, @WeminucheWapitis, on keeping wolves out of Colorado and off your property. I wish you guys the best in the vote!

I'll bet they don't or are indifferent. You can give up all the opportunity for yourself that you want, just don't make everyone else do it too.

And just wait and see what happens when the intro of gray wolves infringe on the wrong tribe. Game over for the wolf at that point...

Well polls show before the first wolf reintroduction the majority of Americans were for bringing back the wolves, even in Wyoming. It’s easy to get stuck in the mindset of a hunter. But hunters are not the majority nor should they get more say in bringing back wolves over other user groups.

The guys that get it done every year elk hunting will not have a problem getting an elk post reintroduction. The guys that get an elk once every 5 years may have a problem. And for sure they will be blaming the wolves!!

Colorado may be too broken up to have wolves. I don’t know but if the majority of Colorado wants them let’s give it a go.

My friends in the Yukon hate woofs and shoot them every chance they get. Sounds like a plan. :)

Hey SS, you can swing by WW's place on your way to 44. Prolly turn it into a 2 day hunt tho. You can pick me up along the way so I can guide your cow hunt. Steep discount if you drive. ;)

You do realize that polls only show the results in favor of the topic they want to show to sway public opinion, right?

The majority of the those polled for me to be the next governor would be a resounding 'yes' when I poll the right demographic. That would enhance my chances of being elected...

Riiiight. You seriously can’t fathom that the majority of Americans want wolves?

Let’s circle back to this after the Colorado vote. You can start getting your excuses lined up. Any bets what it’s going to be? 60/40? 55/45?

65/45 or 80/30 (accounting for fraud). I suspect it would be much different if they reintroduced them on the other side of the state ("front range") where the vast majority of the morons in this state live. Or at least the ones who vote.:sneaky:

I think they should put them in the RMA cage with the buffalo's so the urbanites can sit and watch the tranquility of feeding time.

I always wanted to shoot a woof. Tick tock......:censored:

Now why don't you go do your homework before your mom gets mad.

Riiiight. You seriously can’t fathom that the majority of Americans want wolves?

Let’s circle back to this after the Colorado vote. You can start getting your excuses lined up. Any bets what it’s going to be? 60/40? 55/45?
1) CO is not a majority of Americans
2) Realize that not all registered voters vote
3) A concentrated population will surge numbers, does not mean they are a majority.

If you randomly walked down a street and asked just anyone their opinion of wolves and its reintroduction, you would get a lot of Um's, I don't knows, maybes, sure, I guess it could be good.

For a lot of Americans, the outdoors is a city park or a groomed and maintained hiking trail. The most vocal are the activists so that is all you see and hear.

As soon as you see wolves have an impact on tribal hunting "rights" you will see your wolves silenced...

1) original reintroduction did many random surveys etc
2) it doesn’t matter if not everyone votes. Ever heard of averages or %.
3) the concentration will want wolves

What’s wrong with people perception of the outdoors? It’s different for everyone. Hell I don’t consider anywhere in the lower 48 wild outside a few small pockets in Idaho Montana and WY. Doesn’t mean it’s true, it’s just my perception. And it’s ok.

Not sure where you’re trying to go with tribes and wolves, that’s a new one. Haven’t seen any impacts on the reservations in Montana or Wyoming. I believe this is more made up stuff by you being anti wolf.

but yeah.....just remember the majority of Americans want wolves. Majority rules, except in presidential elections cuz if that was the case you would be screaming Hillary 2020 since she did win the popular vote... I bet that’s what this is about. You hate Trump and am pissed he delisted wolves you Hillary lover!

Guys, guys, guys, you do know there is a way to block someone on this website right? I blocked SS long ago so I have no idea what he said in this but from the replies he hasn’t changed a bit. Remember what they say about a person who argues with a fool

Reason for hope: On my local Nextdoor site, ( Littleton/ Jeffco ) someone asked about how to vote on wolves. The thread blew up with hundreds of reply’s. I conservatively estimate that 65% are against the measure. Most of the responses are well thought out. Maybe the front range voters will vote against wolves. I’m encouraged.

That is encouraging! There’s hope for your side and probability for my side!
