Gray Wolf in Tuolumne County

That’s to bad. The Inyo and Mono deer herds are bad enough without adding wolves to the equation. Use to shoot a lot of coyotes up there on the late 70’s early 80’s. Maybe someone will mistake it for an ugly Germany Sheperd/Coyote.

Question for someone who knows about wolves. I thought wolves were more of a pack/social animal. Whay are some traveling so far away from their pack?

He’s a young male looking for a mate or pack. I’m just going to be hopeful for now that they won’t breed and establish packs down this way because there is no elk or decent deer populations to thrive on. I hunt these counties for deer and while I’m successful on bucks the overall population is abysmal...I don’t mind seeing wolves in Alaska but they have no place here with 40 million people that took away all the good habitat for all wildlife. But make no mistake, our fish and wildlife department focuses all their funding on predator research and monitoring from cash they make off deer tags and donations from groups like the center of biodiversity. They really don’t care enough about ungulates in our state.

They will live on livestock.

Too many predators nowadays as it is. There used to be a small herd of CA Bighorn sheep in Yosemite until the mtn lions picked them off. You won't hear the libs complaining about that.
