I have a Remington 1100 20ga. LW with a 26” barrel for only 2 3/4” shells. Can I use a 28” barrel for up to 3” shells. There’s one on EBay that’s closing soon so I’d like to know

Thanks Joe

I've got one too and have looked around quite a bit for that same barrel. I don't know if the 3" she'll would eject cleanly from the action. I'd be interested to know if it's compatible.

Yes, on the 1100 the ejection tab is on the barrel not in the action. So, a 3" barrel will work on a 2 3/4" gun. I've done this numerous times on 12 gauges and would assume that 20 gauges are no different. Ask the seller to measure the distance on the ejection tab and compare to your existing 2 3/4" barrel.

Is it a vent rib is it a 28” barrel and can you send me some pictures
also did you try to drill out the gas port to eject the 2 3/4” rounds?
thanks Joe

257Tony I’d be interested in trading barrels as long as it would work on my gun. My barrel doesn’t have a VR though.
let me know

Joe
